Our story
Founded by Nancy Hirsch Lassen and Jim Gambill, PaintSpace NOLA is a creative space for artists to collaborate, learn, and exchange ideas. We provide a space for unlimited creativity for the city of New Orleans by hosting a vibrant, talented, engaged community of artists with many gifted teachers and students, alike. We bring together the best instructors from all corners of the globe to inspire as many creatives as possible.
Close-knit, giving, kind and engaging, our art community here is like no other - and we are eager to grow our circle of friends. It brings us pleasure to share our city, our culture, and our talent with those who come here to teach and learn.
An Uptown Oasis for Artists
Our studio is a spacious, newly renovated oasis for artists of all levels of experience. With artists' needs in mind, we’ve designed a space that is functional and inviting, with easy access for setting up supplies, loading and unloading vehicles.
A Well-Appointed Studio
We offer 8’ of wall space per student, a long folding table, a kitchenette with refrigerator, microwave, and dishwasher. A restroom with shower, a secluded courtyard for creative conversations and catered lunches set PaintSpace NOLA apart.
